OmegaAI Export Features

OmegaAI offers robust options for exporting data from worklists into CSV, Excel, or as a Zip file containing complete study data including DICOM images and associated documents. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to use each export function, ensuring data is accurately and efficiently extracted from OmegaAI.

Exporting Data to CSV or Excel

  • Location: Worklist page, top right beside the number of studies.

  • Steps:

    1. Click on Export and then select Export as CSV or Export as Excel depending on your requirement.

  1. Once selected, the data from the worklist will be converted to the chosen file format and automatically saved to the Downloads folder on your local computer.

  2. The filename is assigned by default as "Worklist_[export date]."

Note: Only the fields (columns) that are visible in your worklist at the time of export will be included in the file. These columns will appear in the same order as displayed on the worklist page.

Exporting as a Zip File or Burn

  • Function: This feature allows users to export complete study data, including DICOM images and the study's final report, in a Zip format. See What's Included in an Export for the full list of what is and is not packaged.

  • Steps:

    1. Select the studies you wish to export by placing a checkmark next to each on the worklist. Checkboxes are located on the leftmost side of each study row.

    2. A menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click on Download to proceed with downloading as Zip, with options for an anonymized or normal download, or choose Burn to burn the data onto a physical medium.

    3. The exported data is saved in the Downloads folder of your computer.

    4. The folder structure within the Zip follows DICOM standards:

      • Top-level folder: Named using the Accession number followed by STUDYUID.

      • Second-level folders: Named according to SERIESUID.

      • Third-level folders: Each contains files named with their respective SOPUIDs, representing the DICOM image or object IDs.

What's Included in an Export

Exports and disc burns package a consistent, clinically relevant subset of the study. The same rules apply whether you choose Download, Burn, or send a study through OmegaAI Link.

ContentIncluded?Notes
DICOM image seriesYesAll image series, including XA (angiography) images, render correctly in the export and on burned discs. In a De-identified Download the images are anonymized but still included.
Final reportStandard export onlyThe study's final report (a DICOM-encapsulated PDF) is included in a regular Download, Burn, or OmegaAI Link send. It is excluded from a De-identified Download.
Key Object (KO) selectionsYes, when presentIf the study has key images, a Key Object Selection (KO) DICOM object is generated at the point of export (and when sending via OmegaAI Link), identifying the marked images. KO objects follow the DICOM C.17.6 Key Object Selection standard.
Preliminary reportsNoOnly final reports are ever packaged. Preliminary (draft) reports are always excluded.
Study documentsNoScanned referrals, insurance cards, and other attached study documents are excluded. A De-identified Download additionally excludes the final report and any DICOM-encapsulated PDFs.

De-identified Download

When you choose De-identified Download (also labelled Download Anonymized), OmegaAI removes patient identifiers from the DICOM metadata of the exported images. In addition to the standard tag anonymization:

  • Attached documents are excluded. The de-identified ZIP omits non-image content that could carry identifiable information — DICOM-encapsulated PDFs, diagnostic reports, structured reports, and document references. DICOM image series themselves remain in the export.
  • A burned-in PHI warning is shown. When the de-identified download starts, a notification reminds you that anonymization removes identifiers from DICOM metadata and excludes attached documents, but does not redact patient information that is burned into the image pixels (for example, names visible on ultrasound or screen-capture images). Review the contents before sharing.
caution

De-identification operates on DICOM tags and document content. It cannot remove text that is permanently burned into image pixels. Always review de-identified images visually before sharing them outside your organization.

Usage Notes

  • Ensure visibility settings in your worklist are configured to display all necessary columns before exporting to CSV or Excel.

  • Confirm the accuracy of the data and file names, especially when exporting sensitive medical data.

  • Utilize the anonymization option wisely to comply with patient privacy regulations when exporting data.
