Requesting and Managing Appointments

The Scheduler allows users to efficiently create and manage patient appointments within the system. Appointments can be requested either by dragging studies from the Worklist or by creating a new appointment directly from the calendar.

Users can also view appointment details, update scheduling information, or remove appointments as needed. These features help streamline the scheduling process and ensure accurate coordination of patient studies and clinical workflows.

Requesting Appointment from Worklist

1. Locate the Study

  • Navigate to the Worklist from the main dashboard.

  • Locate the desired patient/study in the worklist table.

2. Open the Scheduler

  • Click the Calendar icon located on the right-side navigation bar to open the in-grid calendar.

  • Click on the date selector on the top left corner of the calendar and select the desired date.

  • Scroll on the timeline to locate the desired time slot.

3. Select a Resource

  • The available resources are displayed as columns at the top of the calendar.

  • If the desired resource is not visible, click on the resource selector to open the dropdown and search for or select the desired resource.

4. Schedule the Appointment

  • Click and hold the patient entry in the worklist, then drag it to the scheduler panel on the right.

  • Release the record under the desired resource column at the preferred time slot on the calendar.

5. Appointment Confirmation

  • The appointment will automatically appear on the calendar under the selected resource.

  • Adjust the time if needed by dragging the appointment block up or down within the calendar to change the timeslot.

Requesting Appointment from Calendar

1. Open the Calendar

  • Click the Calendar icon located on the right-side navigation bar.

  • The Scheduler (in-grid calendar) will open, displaying the selected day and available time slots.

2. Select a Resource

  • The available resources are displayed as columns at the top of the calendar.

  • If the desired resource is not visible, click on the resource selector to open the dropdown and search for or select the desired resource.

3. Select a Time Slot

  • Navigate to the desired date using the date selector at the top left of the calendar.

  • Select the desired resource column at the top of the calendar.

  • Click on the preferred time slot within the calendar.

  • The New Appointment panel will open on the right side of the screen.

4. Enter Appointment Details

Fill in the required information in the New Appointment panel:

  • Appointment Date -- Select the appointment date.

  • Start Time / End Time -- Specify the appointment duration.

  • Priority -- Choose the priority level (e.g., STAT, ASAP, Urgent, Routine).

  • Patient Name---Search for an existing patient using a name, phone number, or date of birth. If no match is found, click + Add New to create a new patient record.

  • Physician Details: Add referring and consulting physician information.

  • Orders: Select from existing orders or create a new one by choosing the appropriate study set.

  • Notes -- Add any relevant notes for the appointment.

5. Create the Appointment

  • Click Create to confirm the appointment.

  • The appointment will appear in the calendar timeline at the selected time slot under the chosen resource column.

Managing an Appointment

Users can view, edit, or delete an existing appointment directly from the Scheduler.

1. Open Appointment Details

  • Navigate to the Scheduler calendar.

  • Click on the desired appointment block in the calendar.

  • The Appointment Details panel opens, displaying the appointment information.

2. Edit Appointment

  • Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the appointment time..

  • Update the required details, such as time, priority, patient information, or order details.

  • Save the changes to update the appointment..

3. Delete Appointment

  • Click and hold the Delete (trash) icon at the bottom of the panel to remove the appointment from the calendar.
