Requesting Appointment

The Request Appointment feature lets you submit an appointment request directly from a completed study in your Blume portal.

Note: This button only appears on completed studies where your imaging organization has enabled the ‘Allow Patients to Request Appointments’ setting. If you do not see the button on a study, contact your imaging provider.

Mobile

Accessing the Button

The Request Appointment button appears below the action buttons on eligible completed study cards. The actions on a study card appear in this order:

  1. View Results
  2. Download Results
  3. Share via Email
  4. Request Appointment

Tap Request Appointment to open the request flow.

Upload Your Doctor’s Order

On the first screen, you can upload your doctor’s order or exam request form.

  • Tap Choose File to select a document from your device.
  • Tap Camera to capture a photo of the form directly.
  • Tap Fill Manually or Next to skip the upload and proceed without a file.

If you upload a file, it appears at the top of the screen, and the following fields are displayed. These fields are pre-filled based on the completed study you selected:

  • Patient — pre-filled with the patient associated with the selected study (not necessarily the primary account holder).
  • Referring Physician (Optional) — Using the same field, select an existing referring physician from the dropdown or type to add a new one. This field can be left blank.
  • Exam Type — Select from the dropdown. If an exam type was found in your uploaded document, this field is auto-populated, and a notification appears in yellow-red below.

Tap Next to continue.

Select Date & Time

This screen shows your location and available appointment slots.

  • Your Location is shown for reference.
  • Tap View in Maps to open a map of the facility in a drawer. Close the drawer to return to the form.
  • Exam Centre (previously labelled ‘Choose Healthcare Provider’) is pre-filled with your organization’s facility and is disabled — it cannot be changed.

Note: Available slots are shown in a week view (seven days at a time):

  • Highlighted dates have at least one available slot, making it easy to see when you can book.
  • The nearest available date is auto-selected by default — you do not need to check each day manually.
  • Tap the calendar icon to see all highlighted available dates across the month.
  • You can change the selected date at any time by tapping a different highlighted date.
  • Tap Show More to view all available time slots for the selected date.

Once you have selected your preferred date and time slot, tap Next to continue.

Confirm Details

Before your appointment is booked, a preview screen shows all the details you have entered. Review the appointment summary carefully.

  • Tap the Back button at the top of the screen to return to any previous step and make changes.
  • You can attach supporting documents using the Upload option.
  • The Notes field is not available on this screen.
  • Tap Confirm & Request to submit your appointment request.

After Booking

After tapping Confirm & Request, a success screen confirms that your appointment request has been submitted. The request is sent to your organization, which will review and confirm the appointment. Once confirmed, your appointment appears in the Schedule tab of your Blume portal, where you can also access and fill out any related forms.

Web

Accessing the Button

On the web, the Request Appointment button is no longer displayed at the top-right of the page. It now appears directly on individual completed study cards — and only for studies where your organization has enabled this feature.

Note: The ‘+ Request Appointment’ button that previously appeared at the top-right of the page has been removed. The button is now found on each individual study card.

Requesting an Appointment

Click Request Appointment on a completed study card to begin. The web flow follows the same steps as mobile. Key behaviours to note:

  • All fields are pre-filled from the completed study you selected: patient name, imaging procedure, and location are populated automatically.
  • Referring Physician** (Optional) — A new field. Select a referring physician from the dropdown or leave it blank.
  • Exam Centre — Pre-filled with your organization’s facility and disabled. It cannot be changed.
  • Exam Type — If an exam type was found in your uploaded document, this field is auto-populated, and a notification appears highlighted in yellow-red.
  • Slot selection uses the same week view as mobile: highlighted dates show available slots, and the nearest available date is auto-selected.
  • A Confirm Details screen appears before finalizing, where you can review all details, go back to make changes, and add supporting documents.

After Booking

After clicking Confirm & Request, a success screen confirms that your appointment request has been submitted. Your appointment then appears in the Schedule tab of your Blume portal.
