Referring Organization Affiliation Flow
The Referring Organization Affiliation framework in OmegaAI (OAI) enables Primary Organizations to establish relationships with external organizations while maintaining centralized control over user permissions and access.
This enhancement introduces:
- Self-service creation of Referring Organizations
- Automatic affiliation setup
- GUI-based role management for affiliated referring users
Organization Types
OmegaAI supports two organization types within the Referring Organization Affiliation framework.
| Organization Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Primary Organization | Organization currently administering OmegaAI |
| Referring Organization | Organization whose physicians refer patients and studies |
| Affiliated Referring Organization | Referring Organization connected through the Affiliation framework |
| Unaffiliated Referring Organization | Organization whose affiliation has been removed |
Creating a Referring Organization
Administrators can create a Referring Organization directly from the Affiliation workflow without leaving the current page. This eliminates the need for separate setup processes.

Creating a Referring Organization
Administrators must provide:
-
Mandatory information:
- Organization Name
-
Additional information (when duplicate names exist):
- NPI Number
- Address
Duplicate Organization Detection
If the entered organization name already exists in OmegaAI:
The system automatically expands additional fields.
Required information becomes:
- Organization Name
- NPI
- Address
This allows administrators to distinguish between organizations sharing similar names.
Organization Creation Process
After successful creation, OmegaAI automatically:
- Creates the Referring Organization
- Affiliates it with the Primary Organization
- Makes it immediately visible in the Affiliation UI
- Creates the GUI role: AFFILIATED REFERRING PHYSICIAN
- Assigns affiliated users to this role

AFFILIATED REFERRING PHYSICIAN Role
Historically, referring physicians only inherited access from their Referring Organization. There was no ability to customize permissions. The new role introduces granular permission management.
Default Role Behaviour
Role Name:
AFFILIATED REFERRING PHYSICIAN

Role Mapping
Referring Organizations support only one role.
